The Catholic Daughters of the Americas is one of the oldest and largest organizations of Catholic women in the Americas. They donate to charities, administer scholarship programs and strive “to be helping hands where there is pain, poverty, sorrow or sickness.”
Catholic Daughters of the Americas strives to embrace the principle of faith working through love in the promotion of justice, equality, and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all.
The CDA motto is UNITY and CHARITY.
The CDA was formed over 100 years ago and today numbers 66,000 dues-paying members in 1,150 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam, the Virgin Islands, Kenya, and Peru. Catholic Daughter women enjoy each other’s company at meetings and work hard for their parishes and communities. Deeply spiritual, together they share faith, love of God and a distinctly feminine spirituality alluded to by Pope John Paul II when he spoke of the necessity of “feminine genius” in today’s world. The program includes concerns of today’s church and society as well as issues that affect the well-being of women and children. The Legislative Program encourages interested members to learn about laws that may influence their faith and to contact their state representatives to make their personal positions known through Operation Morning Star [The Catholic Daughters of the Americas does not endorse political candidates].

From the moment of our founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus. We are men of faith and men of action.
Our charitable activities encompass an almost infinite variety of local, national and international projects. From international charitable partnerships with Special Olympics, the Global Wheelchair Mission and Habitat for Humanity to our own Food for Families and Coats for Kids projects and other local charities, the opportunity to work together with fellow Knights and their families is virtually endless.
If you’d like to be a part of an international organization of nearly 2 million Catholic men whose principal work involves helping others in need, we'd like to meet you and invite you to join us.

What is Eucharistic Adoration? It has been the consistent belief of the Catholic Church from the very beginning that the bread and wine consecrated at Mass truly become the Body and Blood of Christ; and that, furthermore, as the Catholic Catechism states, this “Eucharistic presence of Christ [which] begins at the moment of the consecration...endures as long as the Eucharistic species subsist.” (CC #1377). In other words, the Eucharistic Christ then continues to be present in our midst beyond the
Eucharistic liturgy when the consecrated host is either reposed in a tabernacle or exposed on the altar.
Why Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament? If we can adore the Eucharistic presence of Christ when reposed in a tabernacle, why do we then need to expose the Blessed
Sacrament on an altar? It is not essential for exposition to take place to have Eucharistic adoration, yet people report experiencing a greater sense of intimacy with Jesus and attentiveness of mind and heart to prayer when they are able to actually “see” our Eucharistic Lord. The best reason for having exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is simply that God wills it. During His Eucharistic discourse, Jesus made this unmistakably clear: “Indeed, this is the will of My Heavenly Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son, and believes in Him, shall have eternal life. Him I will raise up on the last day” (John 6:40).

Cursillos is an apostolic movement, founded in Majorca, Spain by a group of laymen in 1944. The Cursillo focuses on showing Christian lay people how to become effective Christian leaders over the course of a three-day weekend. The weekend includes fifteen talks, some given by priests and some by lay people. These talks are called "rollos". The major emphasis of the weekend is to ask participants to take what they have learned back into the world, on what is known as the "fourth day."
The method stresses personal spiritual development, as accelerated by weekly group reunion (after the weekend).
Those who have attended a Cursillo weekend form a "Family Group", which meets on a regular basis (often weekly). The purpose of this meeting (called a group reunion) is for participants to share with one another the spiritual growth that has taken place since the last meeting, with a special focus on prayer, spiritual reading, and actions to share Christ and His message with those in the world. Attempting such growth can sometimes make people feel frustrated or depressed.
The family group is intended to provide continual support to persevere in bringing Christ to the world.
Ultreya (Spanish for Onward) is a meeting consisting of a larger Cursillo community. It is the time for the members of the smaller groups to meet and share their stories, their support, and their encouragement.
